Stronger Oversight of Natural Gas Drilling Tompkins County and the Southern Tier of NY sit on the Marcellus Shale — a large natural gas deposit. Gas drilling companies are fighting to drill using a poorly regulated and researched process called Hydraulic Fracturing.  We won’t let them unless the proper regulations and oversight are in place.

Fighting Against High Property Taxes For the past four years, the Tompkins County Legislature has continuously worked  to maintain a strong balance between keeping property taxes low and supporting the critical needs of Tompkins County residents. The economic downturn makes this harder than ever.

In the Press Over past four years, Nate has worked to raise awareness of health care, fiscal sustainability, environmental conservation, affordable housing, and other important issues in the Ithaca Journal, Ithaca Times, Tompkins Weekly, Cornell Daily Sun, Syracuse Post-Standard, Elmira Star-Gazette, WVBR, WHCU, and other media outlets.

Elected to a Second Term On November 3, 2009, Nate was elected to a second term representing Ithaca on the Tompkins County Legislature. Over the past four years, he’s worked hard to fight high property taxes, work for universal health care, and support sustainable, community-driven development. Watch videos and see pictures of Nate’s re-election campaign announcement here.

The Movement – At Every Level – for Affordable, Universal Health Care On the Legislature, Nate sponsored resolution after resolution pushing for real, substantial health care reform.  His professional background in health care has given him the perspective and experience  to help make reform a reality.
